                      Seahawks Win Home Opener!

Capital City Seahawks kick-off their season with a 60-0 win over the Arbutus Big Red of the MDFL. A strong start for the defending champs (replacing a few starters on both sides of the ball).  Avoiding the weather delay the Hawks started the first drive with an interception that led to a few back and forth series before Larenzo Fisher CB #8 started the scoring party with a pick six! From there, the Hawks showed their ability to rebound in a blink as Wesley Yates Qb #11 threw the first of his 5 tds on the night to JD Crandall Wr #13. From there the rout was on! Overall, the game (originally a preseason game but now a regular season game) allowed for multiple newcomers to make an impact such as Jonathan Mensah (80 yard td) and Ken Burton Jr. (20 yard rushing td) as well as veterans on both sides to continue to wreak havoc (Christopher Hickson 1 td, JD Crandall 2 tds, Zane Carroll 1 td, Harold Smith Pick Six, and Gerel Robinson INT).  Our player of the game was QB #11 Wesley Yates, 17-22 346 yards 5tds, 1 int!! Please support your Seahawks by making the trip next week to Williamsburg to face the defending, 7 time MDFL Champions, Virginia Crusaders! (Details to be announced)

Thanks to all of the Flock that came out and supported in the up and down weather. The Seahawks remain undefeated in season home openers, congratulations to our Head Coach and Owner James "Coach Crow"Crowell on that impressive mark.
